Wedding bands have been a staple of weddings until today when there is no live band at the wedding. Many people choose to forgo having a live band in favor of getting DJ services or no music at all, but some still prefer to hire a band to play at their wedding. It is an excellent idea if it's an event that people of all ages will be attending, but hiring a band can also double as an excellent gift for your bride and groom.
It can be tough to decide which wedding bands you want to choose, and deciding on the right one starts with some research. The first thing you should do is look at the profiles of various bands on their website and see if they have any samples of the music posted for those who are wondering what kind of music they will play. You can also ask to watch a video recording or see how many albums the band has put out to know what music to expect.
The next step is to ensure you get a contract for what the Band will provide services and how long they will play for. Some bands have different rates depending on an indoor or outdoor venue, but most will charge at least $1500 per 4-hour performance. It is worth the money, and you can even ask if they would play longer for a lower rate per hour, but don't be surprised if that isn't possible because most bands need to be paid overtime as it is now.
